Do 35-Inch Tires Require a Lift Kit?

35-inch tires transform any truck into a true off-road beast with serious ground clearance. However, jumping to 35s almost always requires suspension modification, speedometer recalibration, and consideration of factory axle gear ratios.

Ford F-150 (2015-2026)Requires a 2.0" - 2.5" front leveling kit on factory wheels (+44mm offset). Heavy trimming required with negative offset wheels.
Chevy Silverado 1500 / GMC SierraRequires a 3.5" to 4" suspension lift kit. Silverado square wheel arches rub aggressively on 35s with simple level kits.
Toyota Tacoma (2nd, 3rd, 4th Gen)Requires a 3.5"+ lift kit, aggressive Cab Mount Chop (CMC), firewall pinch weld flattening, and high-clearance front bumper.
Ram 1500 (Bighorn / Laramie / Rebel)Requires a 2.5" leveling kit or 4" suspension lift. Factory 3.92 axle gearing handles 35s much better than 3.21 gears.
Jeep Wrangler (JL / JK)Fits on stock Wrangler Rubicon (with high-line fenders). Sport/Sahara require a 2.0" - 2.5" budget boost or lift kit.
